Fluorescent labels for live-cell imaging

Luminicell is a Singapore-based biotechnology company that specialises in advanced biocompatible fluorescent probes for long-term live cell, deep-tissue bio-imaging and diagnostics applications with exceptional sensitivity. Founded in 2014, Luminicell manufactures fluorescent lipid nanoparticles with its patented encapsulation platform technology, combining it with novel Aggregation-Induced Emission (AIE) molecular powering its next-generation, ultra-bright fluorescent AIEdot™ trackers. AIEdots exhibit outstanding photostability, enabling continuous monitoring of biological processes and unlocking long-term imaging for both in vitro and in vivo applications. 

Luminicell’s proprietary aggregation-induced emission (AIE) fluorescence nanoparticles are excellent biocompatible lipid nanoparticles that come with encapsulated AIE dyes. These AIE fluorescence nanoparticles are non-toxic to cells, extremely bright, highly resistant to photobleaching effect, rendering them the ideal probe for long-term imaging. 

AIE materials exhibit strong fluorescence upon self-assembly or aggregation. Their current product portfolio consists of fluorescence labels across the visible (blue, green, red) and NIR spectral region, compatible for both single-photon and two-photon fluorescence microscopy. 

Their Luminicell Trackers consist of AIE materials that are well-encapsulated with an amphiphilic lipid polymer matrix. The encapsulation matrix is highly biocompatible with negligible toxicity effect on cells, where the AIE dyes are now densely packed in highly uniform lipid nanoparticles, allowing the aggregated AIE to exhibit their unique properties. 

Different targeting groups and functional moieties can be made readily available on the surface of our AIE fluorescence lipid nanoparticles, providing great convenience and ease of conjugation to antibodies or peptides of interest. These functional groups can be used for conjugation such as Thiol-maleimide reaction, as well as Clickable alkyne and azide groups.
